Aleksei Leonidovich Kononov, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (RANERA)

In 1972 A.L. Kononov graduated from the Perm Higher Command Engineering Academy, speciality – flight control systems and their technological equipment. In 1984 he graduated from the Military Academy named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky, speciality – command and staff, prestrategic activity. In 1999 he graduated from the postgraduate course of the Military Academy named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky, in 2002 he defended the dissertation of candidate of military science (a special topic). A.L. Kononov prepared and defended the dissertation for a degree of Doctor of Political Science, speciality – political problems of international relations and global development. He lectures on political science and migration policy. His professional interests cover international relations and foreign policy of Russia; international nuclear problems; problems of national security; political problems connected with ballistic missile defence in foreign affairs; transparency of state and municipal authorities; problems of territorial integrity of Russia; migration; government regulation of migration processes; problems of implementation of the government programme aimed at rendering assistance to compatriots who are living abroad and want to move to the Russian Federation. He started working in 1967; he has worked in the current field since 1986.
